Install an IPTV player on Linux
Playova for Linux comes as an AppImage, a Debian package or a one-line install command. These steps take you from choosing the file to your first channel.
In short
Playova for Linux plays the M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login you already have, with the same desktop features as the Windows and Mac apps. It ships for 64-bit Intel and AMD processors only; there is no build for ARM machines.
Choose how to install
The terminal command on the Linux page picks the right file, checks it and installs it. You can also download a file yourself.
- AppImage: runs on most current distributions without installation; mark it executable and start it.
- Debian package: installs on Ubuntu 22.04 or newer and Debian 12 or newer.
- Install command: curl -fsSL https://playova.app/install.sh | bash
Add your source
Open Sources and add an Xtream Codes login with the server address, user name and password, or paste an M3U playlist address. Let the first import finish; afterwards you browse from the saved catalogue and only playback needs the provider.
Trial and Plus
The 14-day trial starts with your first source. A Linux copy opens with Plus bought inside Playova on Windows, Android or Fire TV; sign in with the same Playova account. Plus covers up to five supported devices.
Remove it later
Run the install command with --uninstall to remove Playova, and add --delete-data to delete your sources, saved passwords and history with it.
