Set up an IPTV player on an Android phone or tablet
Playova for Android comes from Google Play and plays the source you already have: an M3U playlist or an Xtream Codes login. These steps take you from installation to your first channel.
In short
Playova for Android plays the subscription you already have. You install it on an Android phone or tablet, add the details your provider sent you, and Playova imports the channels, films, series and programme guide into the device so you can browse them quickly.
Install Playova
Open Google Play, search for Playova and install it, or follow the Google Play link on the Android page of this site. Open the app when the installation finishes.
Add your source
Choose to add a source. For an Xtream Codes login, enter the server address, the user name and the password from your provider. For an M3U playlist, paste its address. On a phone it is often easiest to copy the details from your provider's message and paste them.
- The programme guide comes from your source when your provider includes one.
Let the first import finish
The first import copies the channel list, the film and series catalogue and the guide into the device. When it finishes you can browse without waiting for the provider each time; playing still needs a working connection to your source.
Use the phone to set up your television
If you also watch on a television, open Quick setup on the television, then open playova.app/tv/ in your phone's browser and enter the code it shows. Your source details travel encrypted from the phone to the television, so you do not have to type a long address with the remote.
Trial and plans
The 14-day trial starts when you add your first source, and every supported paid feature is open during it. After the trial, watching needs Basic or Plus, bought inside the app through Google Play. Basic covers one device; Plus covers up to five supported devices on one Playova account and keeps your place in films and episodes in step between them.
Questions and answers
Does Playova include channels?
No. Playova plays your own authorised M3U playlist or Xtream Codes source. Channels, guide data and catch-up depend on your provider.
Is there an iPhone version?
The iPhone and iPad app is not released yet. The Android app is available on Google Play.
Can I watch in a small window while I use other apps?
Yes, picture-in-picture works on supported Android devices and playback paths.
