Set up an IPTV player on Android TV or Google TV

Playova for Android TV and Google TV is an early access download while the store release is prepared. These steps take you from installing the file to your first channel.

· Written by the Playova team, who build and test the app.

In short

Playova for Android TV plays the M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login you already have. The early access version is an APK you install yourself; it does not update itself and has no purchase screen, so you sign in with a Plus account bought on another device.

Install the early access APK

Open the Android TV page of this site and download the APK for boxes without Google Play. Install it on the box with a file manager or a downloader app, allowing installation from that app when Android asks.

Add your source

Open Quick setup on the television, then open playova.app/tv/ on your phone or computer and enter the code it shows. Your source details travel encrypted to the television, so you do not type a long address with the remote. You can also add an Xtream Codes login or an M3U address with the remote.

Trial and Plus

The 14-day trial starts when you add your first source. After it, sign in with a Playova account that has Plus, bought inside Playova on Windows, Android or Fire TV. Plus covers up to five supported devices.

Updates

The early access APK does not update itself. Download the newer file from the Android TV page when a new version is announced, and install it over the old one; your sources and history stay.
